Consider this when readers may struggle to connect a practice observed elsewhere with a recognizable difficulty in their own lives.

Beyond adding personal experience, show the specific change the narrator tries and separate the noticed result from a claim of general effectiveness.
The second setting gives readers a concrete bridge from observation to attempted use. The reported result can motivate investigation without serving as controlled proof.

After describing parents using questions in place of commands, the Raising Rosy subsection shows Doucleff trying the approach herself. A sunscreen disagreement supplies a concrete encounter; a later question from Rosy is reported as a sign that the child is thinking about the phrase.
The writer exposes the transfer step: an observed tactic becomes a chosen response to her own recurring problem, with the narrator reporting what she takes from the result.

- State the behavior observed and the problem it might address.
- Show what the narrator actually changes in a comparable encounter.
- Separate the noticed outcome from claims about effectiveness for other people.

An inspiring fieldwork scene followed by generic advice leaves the transfer step invisible.
Where the lesson stops
The author’s trials involve her own family and interpretation of events. They are not blinded comparisons and do not establish general parenting efficacy.
