Cosmos

In the introduction, Sagan links the project to his experience communicating about planetary exploration and to the development of the television series. He says the book and series evolved together while using their media differently, and credits Ann Druyan and Steven Soter with substantial contributions to the project’s ideas and structure.

The Dragons of Eden

Sagan says the book substantially expands the first Jacob Bronowski Memorial Lecture, which he delivered at the University of Toronto in November 1975. He describes learning beyond his main training and offering hypotheses with trepidation; the acknowledgments credit research, manuscript readers, editors, picture research and production assistance while keeping responsibility for speculation with him.
